EDDart, on the occasion of Contemporanea – Rome Gallery Weekend, is pleased to present Questione di equilibrio, a solo exhibition by Mauro Di Silvestre. The show marks his first collaboration with the gallery and his return to Rome with a solo presentation after several years.
The exhibition brings together a selection of works that explore the concept of balance, understood as an ongoing dialogue between opposing elements: stability and fragility, gesture and control, memory and the present. Deeply connected to the city of Rome, the works stem from the artist’s personal and professional experiences.
Mauro Di Silvestre was born in Rome in 1968, where he lives and works. He trained between Rome and Los Angeles, developing a painterly practice that has evolved over time through cross-disciplinary influences and collaborations. Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad, receiving important awards, including the second prize at the Premio Città di Lissone (2001) and the Premio Celeste (2004) in the Emerging Painters category.
He has exhibited in international institutions and contexts, including the Victoria Memorial Museum in Kolkata, and has been invited to artist residencies in China and Azerbaijan. Notable exhibitions include collaborations with Galleria L’Attico in Rome, participation in the Rome Quadriennale, and several solo shows in Italian and European galleries. Alongside his exhibition activity, he has led workshops and masterclasses, collaborating with academies and also working in theatre and film.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalogue featuring a text by Valerio Antonio Federico.
